Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of children ages 3-12. It originated in 1954 in rome with Sofia Cavalletti. It is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the Church

St. Francis de Sales offers the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program to children on all 3 levels :
Level I: 3-6 year old
Level II: 6-9 year old
Level III: 9-12 year old

Children do not need to be Catholic in order to participate in the program.

Our Atrium is led by Sr. Mary Elizabeth Klier, OSF. She has been involved with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for the past thirty years. She has been trained in all three levels of the catechesis program. From 2001-2014, she was the catechist in the CGS program at the former SS. Simon and Jude Parish, and since the fall of 2014 has been the catechist at St. Francis de Sales.
